AN EAST ASIAN ADVENTURE
Some of the least obvious places in the world offer some of the most amazing experiences on the bike. Taiwan has consistently blown our minds every time we have visited this lush, beautiful island off the southern coast of mainland China.
Here, you will find the roads and the climbs you would never imagine riding. Pas Normal Studios has spent the last few years getting familiar with all the possibilities it has to offer and we have put together a true adventure, culminating with the towering challenge that is the Taiwan KOM.
This challenge is second to none in the world of cycling when it comes to climbing and we have reserved some very exclusive entries for a select group. Before we take on this monster, we will enjoy all the stunning varieties of riding the island has to offer from North to South with plenty of time to genuinely explore.
We look forward to taking you on a very special trip that has been tailored to some unbelievable riding.
During the trip we will explore the Asian cuisine curated by local experts and will be visiting some great restaurants.
During our days in Taipei, we will be staying at The Sherwood Taipei Hotel. As we approach the Taiwan KOM Challenge, we will move to the Chateau De Chine Hotel in Hualien.
TAIWAN KOM CHALLENGE
Starting in 2012, KOM, the Taiwan King of Mountain Challenge, has become one of the most prestigious and greatest climbing events in the world. The route with a total length of 105 km, starting from sea level in Hualien Qixingtan, passing though the spectacular Taroko gorge, and ending up at the highest road apex atop route 14A to Wuling Pass at 3275km, has become one of the most difficult climbing challenges. The Taiwan KOM Challenge is definitely a once in a life time cycling event for any rider. It offers a truly unique perspective, as well as an opportunity to truly challenge yourself.
